EVENT INFORMATION

OOGEEP Responding to Oilfield Emergencies Training

This award-winning training, a first of its kind in the nation, has provided training to more than 1,500 firefighters and first responders. This training teaches common practices, references and standards used by the fire service and the natural gas & oil industry. It is designed to provide insight into how natural gas and oil is explored, drilled, produced and transported, as well as the importance of establishing a unified command in the event of a rare emergency. The training curriculum, which meets state and federal fire safety standards, was collaboratively developed by OOGEEP, natural gas and oil industry experts, regulatory agencies, firefighters, and emergency response experts.

Thanks to Ohio’s natural gas and oil producers,
this training is provided free of charge to Ohio first responders!
